@Vikas_Kumar Sure — here’s the clean step-by-step setup for the AshnaAI API.

### 1. Create your API key

Log in to AshnaAI and go to:

**Account → API → Create API Key**

Copy the key and store it safely. Treat it like a password and never post it publicly.

### 2. Use the correct Base URL

AshnaAI supports OpenAI-compatible clients.

**Base URL:**  
`https://api.ashna.ai/v1/api`

For most apps such as **Cline, Continue, Cursor, VS Code extensions, OpenAI SDKs, etc.** , choose:

**Provider:** OpenAI Compatible / Custom OpenAI  
**API Key:** your AshnaAI API key  
**Base URL:** `https://api.ashna.ai/v1/api`

### 3. Select the model

For the models from this giveaway, use the exact model IDs:

**GPT-6 Astra**  
`gpt-6-astra`

**Claude Fable 5**  
`claude-fable-5`

The model name must be entered exactly as shown.

### 4. Test the API first

Before configuring another application, I recommend testing the key directly.

Example with cURL:

Replace:

`YOUR_API_KEY`

with your real AshnaAI API key.

If you want to test Fable 5 instead, change:

`gpt-6-astra`

to:

`claude-fable-5`

If you receive a normal JSON response, your API access is working.

### 5. Check which models your key can access

You can also query the model list:

This is useful if a model name changes or you want to see every model available to your account.

### Common errors

**401 Unauthorized** → API key is missing or invalid

**403 Forbidden** → your key/account does not have access to that model

**404 Not Found** → incorrect model or endpoint

**429 Rate Limit** → too many requests / limit reached

**500 Server Error** → server-side issue

### If you are using Claude Code or Codex

AshnaAI also supports them directly.

**Claude Code**

`ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL=https://api.ashna.ai/v1/api`

`ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEY`

**Codex**

`OPENAI_BASE_URL=https://api.ashna.ai/v1/api`

`OPENAI_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEY`

**Note:** These instructions are based on AshnaAI’s documentation and haven’t been personally tested. External API usage reportedly requires a paid plan; free-plan and referral credits cannot be used for API calls. Is there a way to delete the account and reuse the same email address? I don’t have multiple spare email IDs. 😕
