I’m preparing for the Claude Certified Architect – Foundations (CCAR-F) exam and wanted to share what I’ve been using for preparation.

Along with the official study material, I’ve been using certslab CCAR-F questions, PDF and Test Engine. The practice questions have helped me get more familiar with the scenario-based format and understand where I still need to improve.

The questions cover areas such as Claude architecture, MCP, tool use, agentic workflows, security, and design decisions.

If anyone has already taken the CCAR-F exam, I’d be interested to know which topics you found the most difficult and whether the actual exam was more scenario-based than the practice questions.

Any preparation tips would be appreciated.

**@Tim_Smith1** — CCAR-F is a real, current credential (Anthropic’s own blog confirms it, launched as part of 4 role-based certs alongside CCAO-F/CCDV-F/CCAR-P), and it’s delivered **closed-book, online-proctored, identity-verified through Pearson VUE**. That detail matters for the second half of this.

**The resource nobody’s mentioned yet, and the best one:** Anthropic publishes an official **Exam Guide (PDF)** for CCAR-F directly — [anthropic.skilljar.com/claude-certified-architect-foundations-access-request](https://anthropic.skilljar.com/claude-certified-architect-foundations-access-request) lists it alongside the Certification Terms and the Exam Policy. It covers exactly what’s tested (Claude Code, the Agent SDK, the API, MCP), free, straight from the people who wrote the exam. Prep training itself lives in **Anthropic Partner Academy** — self-paced, free, for anyone in the Claude Partner Network. That’s your actual starting point, not a third-party question bank.

**On certslab specifically** — worth knowing what it actually is before you lean on it. It’s a generic dump mill selling “100% passing guarantee” PDFs across 4,000+ unrelated certs (Salesforce, Cisco, CompTIA, Palo Alto, now apparently Claude too) — not a specialized or Anthropic-authorized source, just the same template stamped on a new exam code. That’d be a minor quality gripe on its own, but stacked against a **proctored, identity-verified** exam it’s a real risk: certification bodies run statistical item analysis on results specifically to catch memorized-bank answer patterns, and it flags people _after_ they’ve already passed, not just on exam day. Read Anthropic’s own Certification Exam Policy PDF (linked above) before trusting a dump site with a credential you’d actually have to defend later.

**@Tatenda_Chimuti’s [LinkedIn writeup](https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/claude-certification-exams-honest-review-matthew-purcell-byo2e)** checks out — genuinely rare in this space. Author sat and passed all four exams the week they launched, breaks down each one by actual coverage, difficulty, and realistic prep time, and calls out the exact problem this thread is walking into: most “Claude cert” content on LinkedIn right now is either unqualified or AI-slop. Worth reading in full before certslab, not after.

**@Sparky_Singh** — price isn’t published anywhere public that I can find, which tracks: the whole program is gated to organizations in the Claude Partner Network, so cost only surfaces once you’re registering through Partner Academy → Pearson, not on a general pricing page.
