hi, why isnt this thing workign on windows, version 1.1 downloaded only 720p ingored all other formats incl subtitles and this new one’s exe. doesnt even start and its file size is insane opposite to others like idm j2d

**WORKS PERFECTLY ON WINDOWS!** Yesterday 18.08.2026 I downloaded Gentle Giant - Sight an Sound in Concert (Full).mp4, Golders Green Hippodrome, London, January 5th, 1978 in 720p format. I don’t know what the user _ **sebastian\_kegler** _ wanted to say, but I think the video he wanted to download was found on the net only in 720p format and without subtitles. I would recommend _ **sebastian\_kegler** _ to give up idm j2d, which are outdated in technology (2000s) and to use DelphiVideoDownloader, Social Media Downloader 7.9.1 utorrent, bittorent, etc. torrent technology. ---

**To clarify:** _Could you please try version 1.2? Let me know if you still face the same issue._ I was writing about the 1.2 version—read what I wrote. Your 1.0 version in my case only downloads in 720p, with no subtitles, regardless of which resolution I choose. I usually choose 360 - 480p (IDm J2D confirms its availible) because it’s the best fit for me. This new one delphi 1.2, which I took from the link you posted, does nothing. I double-click its .exe file and nothing happens. There is this clock icon that appears as if something wants to start, but it doesnt - nothing happens. Does one need anything besides the 1.2’s provided files in the app that comes from your link (check attached jpeg)? If so, what? If it’s some Python thing, then thanks, but I’m not interested (though I didn’t find a single word about it in your article). Although, if that were the case, then even 1.0 wouldn’t work (if it’s based on the same code). But 1.0 opens normally in Delphi 1.0; one can choose whichever resolution one wants and its subtitles (or not, I don’t remember). The problem is that 1.0 downloads only, I repeat, only and always only in 720p. When I try to download the same files or YouTube playlists with j2d, MediaHuman, Hitomi, and others, they download them in the chosen resolution—360 or 480p—meaning the resolution exists and it’s downloaded. I tried your delphi 1.0 it for my regular daily usage, which is downloading from YouTube-like sites (e.g., Dailymotion, [Ok.ru](http://Ok.ru), and others), always with the same result: I pick 360 or 480p, which is always available, and your app 1.0 downloaded them always in 720p without explanations and without subtitles. I’ve been using all sorts of downloaders—IDM (paid customer), 4K, StreamRecorder, MediaHuman, Hitomi—and they all do their job as advertised. Delphi 1.0, on the other hand, had its bugs. I’m just writing what I experienced while trying to use it. The 1.2 version, again, is downloaded from the provided link, and when clicking its .exe file, nothing happens—it’s dead. There is also no warning from my PC’s antivirus or Malwarebytes blocking it, meaning no app on my pc is actively blocking it. Could you please share the exact URLs you tested where you experienced these problems? I would like to reproduce the issue on my side and investigate it properly. Please also share the application logs/output generated when you try to download those URLs, especially for the cases where: - You select 360p or 480p but the application downloads 720p instead. - Subtitles are available but are not downloaded. - Version 1.2 does not start or appears to do nothing. The URLs and logs would be very helpful because without knowing the exact videos/sites and the output generated by the application, it is difficult for me to determine what is causing the problem. If possible, please provide 2–3 example URLs and the complete log/output for each one. I will test the same URLs with version 1.2 and try to reproduce the issue. Version 1.0 previously worked downloading YouTube videos, although it would only download them at 720p and I couldn’t get subtitles. I still have videos on my computer that v1.0 successfully downloaded from YouTube, so the program definitely was able to create folders and download files on this same Windows installation before. When I recently started v1.0 again, the program prompted me to update its yt-dlp file. I accepted that update, although I don’t know where the program downloaded that yt-dlp update from. After the update, I tested a YouTube series with subtitles. At that point v1.0 couldn’t even create the download folder, let alone download the videos or subtitles. There might be errors while using it, which can be seen in my video. That seems significant because the folder/download failure only appeared after Delphi prompted me to update yt-dlp. Before that update, the same v1.0 installation had downloaded YouTube videos to this PC, albeit only at 720p. Separately, Delphi Video Downloader v1.2 has a different problem: v1.2 won’t start at all when I click its EXE. I have no intention installing any additional packages, but I’d like to establish exactly what v1.0 and v1.2 requires. If it specifically requires .NET Framework 4.8 or a newer Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, please tell me the exact required version and architecture (x86/x64). I don’t want to install the third-party VisualCppRedist AIO bundle or DotNetVersions utility from GitHub when the actual Visual C++ and .NET components are Microsoft products and can be obtained directly from Microsoft. As you can see in the screenshot, the analysis completed successfully and all resolutions (from 144p to 1080p), audio formats (MP3, FLAC, M4A, WAV, Opus, OGG, AAC), and **42 subtitle options** were listed actively. The application is working flawlessly. The application is written entirely in **Delphi** and runs as a **portable** app. It does not require any external dependencies (runtime, framework, etc.). All you need to do is extract the downloaded archive to a folder and run `DelphiVideoDownloader.exe`. I’m saying that it isn’t working on mine and thats what i’d like to fix. The download contains Delphi Video Downloader v2.1, possibly a different/newer build, but I cannot find a yt-dlp file anywhere in it. Anyway, I downloaded what was available at that link and tried it, but the result was the same: nothing happens when clicking its exe (have video if you want to see it). You also wrote: “Please download this version, extract it to the same folder, and try again.” Do you mean that I should download a particular yt-dlp file and place it in the folder containing Delphi Video Downloader v1.0 because v2.1 doesn’t work for me? If so, where exactly is the yt-dlp file? Again, the link you provided does not appear to contain it. I then went back to Delphi Video Downloader v1.0. I used its update function. I have no idea whether the update actually changed anything because there was no obvious indication. After that, I tested it on YT Shark Tank India Season 1 playlist, containing 36 episodes. Downloading the actual video files still did not work. I received the same error as before: the application says that it cannot create the needed folder for it. Since I can download the videos separately with JDownloader 2, I then tested Delphi v1.0 specifically for downloading only subtitles. First I tried the “Download the Sub files of selected videos” button. This resulted in the JavaScript-related error shown in my attachments. I tried the chatbot function no idea why i guess i was curious what it does, and surprisingly the application suddenly started doing something. It began downloading English auto-translated subtitles from the same 36-episode Shark Tank India Season 1 playlist. The results were inconsistent: First attempt: Delphi v1.0 downloaded subtitles for only about 16–18 of the 36 episodes. I deleted all of those files and repeated the test from scratch. Second attempt: Now it downloaded 42 subtitle files, consisting of both SRT and TXT files. This appears to correspond to subtitles for 21 episodes, with each episode producing one SRT and one TXT file. The SRT files work. The TXT files, for some reason, cannot be used as subtitles by Windows Media Player. So on the first attempt it found/downloaded subtitles for only approximately 16–18 episodes, while on the second attempt it managed 21 episodes from exactly the same playlist. Third attempt: I then tried downloading only the subtitles for the episodes that were still missing. This time Delphi v1.0 successfully downloaded subtitles for another 5 not before downloaded episodes. Fourth attempt: I again tried downloading only the subtitles for the episodes that were still missing. This time Delphi v1.0 successfully downloaded subtitles for another 4 not before downloaded episodes. Why were those subtitles not detected or downloaded during the first or second attempt, but successfully downloaded during the third-fourth attempt? The results appear to change between attempts even though the source videos are the same. Finally, you have asked me for error logs, so where I can find these logs in BOTH applications? - Delphi Video Downloader v1.0: where is the error log located? - Delphi Video Downloader v2.1: where is the error log located? Please give me the exact steps or file location, because I cannot find the error logs in either version. If you specifically want me to replace or manually install yt-dlp in Delphi 2.1, please also tell me exactly which file I should download, where I should download it from, and into which Delphi Video Downloader folder I should put it. ‘You can find the yt-dlp.exe file in the Tools subdirectory!’ How is a user who is not its coder supposed to know that if the coder wrote, “I have re-uploaded the updated and stable version of the yt-dlp file,” which, however, won’t run on my PC for whatever reason. ‘If Mr. mesut\_61 didn’t ask, I’m asking: IS THERE ANY USER WHO HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE APPLICATION?’ You answered your own question. If there were any (like more than 1,000), you would find them, but this is a tight space, not many visitors here, and the same goes for comments-complaints-reports of posted stuff. ‘Because so far only you, Mr., have problems with the application.’ Prove it. Just because you wrote it, it doesn’t mean it’s true or a fact. Others could have similar problems and simply abandon the app because there are so many other free apps working without such problems. ‘I think you have a problem with your WINDOWS system.’ Again, prove it. I asked all the questions needed, including where the log files are that the coder himself wanted me to send, and got zero answers so far. If this were the case, I’d have all sorts of problems with other apps on my PC, yet all other apps are running smoothly 24/7, regardless of whether they’re paid or free versions. So why doesn’t this one? If we ask questions, we expect answers. That’s how things work, yet even after posting the same questions two times, I got zero responses that could help solve this, starting with where the log files are. ‘Why don’t you give up on the application?’ a- Because I like testing new stuff to see if it works better than what I’ve been using so far. b- Because the app has some interesting functions, yet lacks details/polishing to make it interesting for a broader audience. c- I’ve been looking for a business idea I might invest some money into, and this one looked promising. It had some options making it the next IDM/JDownloader, only better, but it still needs lots of work to get to that stage, and that’s where investors jump in to make things happen. d- Who are you to ask such questions? thanks for your support, I appreciate your solid stance. This guy’s comments aren’t even worth taking seriously. Who knows, maybe he needs to stay relevant here to sell his own paid downloader. I have a free piece of software, no commercial concerns; anyone can use it or not, it’s up to them. But when someone keeps saying “it doesn’t work” and can’t even download the updated file sent to them, you can’t help but think the real intention is just advertising. He’d be much better off playing in his own sandbox; this isn’t anyone’s personal advertising space. Anyway, we’ll stick to our business. As for the other guy, good luck and happy sales 😉 ---
