**Summary:**

* * *

1. **New File Size Cap**
Discord has reduced the free upload limit from 25MB to 10MB per file, citing high storage costs. The change aims to manage storage sustainably as most users upload files smaller than 10MB.

2. **Options for Larger Files**
For those needing to upload larger files, Discord offers Nitro Basic and Nitro subscriptions. Nitro Basic provides a 50MB limit, while Nitro allows up to 500MB per file.

3. **Comparison with Other Platforms**
While Discord’s new limit is a decrease, it is still relatively generous compared to some competitors. Platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram offer much larger file limits, up to 2GB.
