YouTube recently added a dubbing feature to videos, allowing users to watch content in different audio languages.
 I am looking for a way to download the video with the dubbed audio track to watch it offline and avoid annoying ads.
Is there a browser extension or an online tool that can do this?
thanks

> You’re seriously arrogant. Asking someone for help or for access to something is a perfectly normal thing to do, so what exactly was that completely unprovoked sarcasm supposed to be? Tell me this: have you ever asked anyone else for a tool or something you needed? If you have, then how about your whole family drops dead? Since this is how you like to talk to people the very first time you interact with them, I figured I’d take a page out of your book.sweat_smile

Ignore mesut\_61 - he’s still in his kindergarten age.

The simple answer:

YouTube’s official app **does not** let you download videos with dubbed audio. When you download a video for offline viewing, it only saves the **original** audio language, not the dubbed one.

To get the dubbed audio in a downloaded file, you need to use a **third-party tool** like:

- **yt-dlp** (a free command-line program)
- **4K Video Downloader** (has an option to choose audio tracks)
- Some browser extensions that let you pick the audio language before downloading

With these tools, you can select the dubbed audio track and save the video with that audio permanently on your device.

You can also try Brave browser — it kills all the ads with ‘no-script’ add-on.
And for downloading, use the official J2D downloader. It’s 100% free and a killer for such things — regularly updated and working like a charm.

Hi,

I use Video Downloader Ultimate. It gives me the option to download YouTube videos with subtitles or audio in Portuguese, which is my native language. That’s why I mentioned it as a helpful tool for my needs.

use this opensource telegram bot [https://t.me/tgytdlp\_de\_bot](https://t.me/tgytdlp_de_bot) , you can download almost anything , you can also choose the audio if the video has one or more audio I guess

but you have pay 1 star if you download nsfw , if you dont want to pay , you can host yourself , the code is free and opensource

# 🎬 YOUTUBE DUBBED AUDIO — OFFLINE DOWNLOAD GUIDE 🎬

═══════════════════════════════════════════════

## 🎯 TWO PATHS FORWARD

┌─────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ PATH A: Official YouTube Premium │
│ PATH B: Third-Party Tools (Own File) │
└─────────────────────────────────────────┘

═══════════════════════════════════════════════

## ✅ PATH A — Official & Ad-Free

**YouTube Premium’s built-in Download button**
→ Saves the video with your selected dubbed track
→ Zero ads
→ ⚠ Catch: encrypted, YouTube-app-only, expires in 29 days (48hrs in some regions) unless refreshed online

═══════════════════════════════════════════════

## 🛠 PATH B — Standalone Files You Actually Own

**🥇 4K Video Downloader Plus** _(Windows/macOS/Linux/Android)_

```auto
1. Paste video link (Smart Mode)
2. Open "Audio Tracks" section
3. Pick your dubbed language OR "All Tracks"
4. Hit Download — merges automatically
```

Most beginner-friendly option, purpose-built for this exact task.

**🥈 yt-dlp + FFmpeg** _(Command-line, free, all platforms)_

```bash
# Step 1: List all audio track IDs
yt-dlp -F "URL"
# Step 2: Download chosen video+audio combo
yt-dlp -f [video-ID]+[audio-ID] "URL"
```

Most flexible — pulls raw streams directly, zero ads baked in.

**🥉 iFunia YouTube Downloader / JDownloader**

```auto
Paste URL → format dropdown shows each
dubbed-language variant → select → download
```

Similar workflow to 4K Video Downloader Plus.

═══════════════════════════════════════════════

## ❌ WHAT WON’T WORK

```auto
Browser extensions marketed for "dubbing"
     ↓
Built for REAL-TIME translation while
watching — NOT for downloading separate
audio tracks as files
```

Skip these for this specific use case.

═══════════════════════════════════════════════

## 📋 QUICK PICK

| Need | Best Tool |
| --- | --- |
| Easiest, no coding | 4K Video Downloader Plus |
| Most control, free | yt-dlp + FFmpeg |
| Simple GUI alternative | iFunia / JDownloader |

═══════════════════════════════════════════════

## ⚖ ONE LEGAL NOTE

This works cleanly for **personal offline archiving**. Redistributing downloaded dubbed content isn’t covered under YouTube’s terms — sanctioned downloading applies to your own uploads or Premium’s built-in feature. For personal viewing, yt-dlp or 4K Video Downloader Plus remain the most reliable picks.

═══════════════════════════════════════════════

_For a truly permanent, ad-free local file with your chosen dub, yt-dlp gives the cleanest result — 4K Video Downloader Plus is the friendlier GUI alternative if you’d rather skip the command line._ 🎧

## 🎯 The reason every tool above hands you the wrong language

```plaintext
  what people think what it actually is
  ───────────────── ───────────────────
  video.mp4 251-0 ← French
  + dubbed_audio.mp3 251-1 ← Portuguese
                             140-8 ← English
  numbered versions of ONE track — and the
  numbers CHANGE on every video
```

English sits at `140-8` on one video and `140-11` on the next. A tool grabbing “the audio” grabs whatever it landed on. Logged by the devs themselves:

▸ [yt-dlp #12105](https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues/12105) → asked for the audio, got **Portuguese**
▸ [cobalt #642](https://github.com/imputnet/cobalt/issues/642) → asked for English, got **Hindi**

> **🔑 Pick by language NAME. Never by track number.**

* * *

## 🛠 Two tools with a real language picker · no typing, no code

### 🌐 [cobalt.tools](https://cobalt.tools/settings/audio) — nothing to install

```auto
Settings ▸ preferred dub language ▸ ~70 languages
Settings ▸ download original ▸ forces the UN-dubbed track
```

`AGPL` · `42k ⭐` · [open source](https://github.com/imputnet/cobalt), self-hostable

### 💾 [Parabolic](https://github.com/NickvisionApps/Parabolic) — desktop app, Win/Mac/Linux

Their own [changelog, v2026.2.2](https://github.com/NickvisionApps/Parabolic/releases/tag/2026.2.2):

> _“Added the ability to see audio language of video formats if applicable.”_

Runs the yt-dlp engine for you — zero command line.
`MIT` · `7k ⭐`

| Situation | Grab |
| --- | --- |
| 🌐 Want the file right now | **cobalt.tools** — paste link, done |
| 💾 Download often, want an app | **Parabolic** |

✅ **verify** → play the file, listen to 5 seconds, _then_ delete the source

* * *

## ❌ Premium is not a download

```plaintext
  Premium "download"
     ├─ encrypted .exo file
     ├─ opens ONLY inside the YouTube app
     ├─ expires ~29 days (48h in some regions)
     └─ cannot be moved, copied or converted
```

A rented offline player. Never a file you own.

* * *

## ⚠ The new AI auto-dubs are a separate system

Creator-uploaded tracks ≠ YouTube’s new auto-dubs. yt-dlp’s maintainer, on the auto ones:

> _“still new and yt-dlp isn’t handling them properly yet… subject to change”_

Every tool downstream inherits that. On auto-dubbed videos → download, **listen first** , then delete the source.

The tool was never the problem. Every one of them will hand you a language you didn’t ask for.
