**Summary:**

1. **Destructive Mission**
The European Space Agency (ESA) intends to launch a satellite in 2027 to observe its destruction during reentry into Earth’s atmosphere. This project aims to understand how satellites break apart.

2. **Combatting Space Junk**
With increasing concerns over space debris, this mission is part of the ESA’s Zero Debris Charter initiative, targeting the reduction of space junk by 2030.

3. **DRACO Details**
The mission, named the Destructive Reentry Assessment Container Object (DRACO), will gather data as the satellite disintegrates. It includes a 40-centimeter capsule designed to survive and transmit information as it descends into the ocean.

4. **Importance of Research**
By analyzing the data collected, scientists hope to develop strategies to prevent further creation of space debris, addressing an escalating issue in space exploration.
