Hi everyone, I’m trying to access Figma’s education plan but I’m running into verification issues. My situation doesn’t fit neatly into the standard student email or document requirements, and support hasn’t fully resolved it yet. Does anyone have experience with legitimate alternatives? For example: – How to get verified if your institution isn’t recognized – Whether recent graduates or self-learners have options – Any official programs, trials, or discounts that worked for you I rely heavily on Figma for my design work and portfolio, and access would make a real difference for my career. Any guidance would be genuinely appreciated. Thanks. ---

🎓 **Don’t fight SheerID — route around it.** * * * 🔀 Apply as an **educator** instead of a student — anyone who teaches, tutors, or leads workshops qualifies. SheerID’s educator check pulls from _different databases_ than the student one, so institutions that fail student verification often pass educator verification. Start here → [**figma.com/education/apply**](https://www.figma.com/education/apply) * * * 📧 If that doesn’t hit, email **[education@figma.com](mailto:education@figma.com)** with your school’s website + any enrollment doc — but here’s the move: **also post publicly on [forum.figma.com](https://forum.figma.com/)** with your ticket number. Figma staff have manually approved domains and overridden SheerID in [**12+ documented cases**](https://forum.figma.com/report-a-problem-6/request-to-add-university-domain-for-figma-education-44056) — public visibility gets faster responses than private emails sitting in a queue. * * * 🔁 Stuck on “_verification limit exceeded_”? That’s now resettable — hit [**SheerID support**](https://support.sheerid.com/en-US/help-center/contact-form) and ask for an **attempt reset** (added late 2025), then CC [education@figma.com](mailto:education@figma.com) so both sides see it. Neither team can punt the ticket when you’ve connected them. * * * ⚡ While any of that processes — your **free Starter plan** already has unlimited drafts + prototype sharing + every plugin. And [**Penpot**](https://penpot.app/) hands you Dev Mode + unlimited everything for $0, no verification, no gatekeeping, with a [**Figma import plugin**](https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1219369440655168734/penpot-exporter) that moves ~80% of your files over.
