If your CU Boulder portal account is locked, you can try waiting 15 minutes for it to reset automatically. If that doesn’t work, or if you have forgotten your password or security questions, you may need to contact the IT Service Center or use the IdentiKey Manager to reset your security questions.

Wait 15 minutes: After five unsuccessful login attempts, the account locks for 15 minutes to reset. A brief wait may resolve the issue.
If you need to reset your password or security questions
Use the IdentiKey Manager: Go to the IdentiKey Manager website and select “Activate My IdentiKey” to reset your security questions and/or update your password.
Follow prompts: You will be guided through the steps, which may require you to enter specific user details based on your affiliation with the university.
If you are still locked out
Contact the IT Service Center: Call the IT Service Center for assistance.
Submit a ticket: You can also submit a ticket to the Service Desk during business hours if you need help after normal working hours.
Additional tips
Check for error messages: If you see a “Bad Request” error after three unsuccessful attempts, this indicates your account may be locked.

Oh so it’s not just me! 
I thought I was the only one who got locked out thanks to my legendary bad luck lol.
Quick tip for next methods: if the method needs you to sign up for something, try to stick with just one account. You’ll never actually use the second or third… we just have this deep human love for the word “More”

Checking back on some of their courses, I noticed that they said that they’re going on “an unplanned maintenance.”

Is there any chance that they will charge me after some time with a fee on my address?
my free .edu account was locked after about 3-4 days too, this really isn’t worth going thru all the trouble after it being locked.
I would not bother with it! Not his fault and it was a nice try!
this is how we lose these freebies - people taking more than they need! you can read thru here and find people saying they did it multiple times!! Pity, now we all lost it, they are locking the accounts, idiots probably did it 5 - 10 - 20 times, who knows…
