**Summary:**

* * *

1. **Decline in Engagement**
A Gallup and Walton Family Foundation survey shows Gen Z students, aged 12-18, are less engaged in school compared to last year. Only half feel positively challenged by their classes.

2. **Gap Between College-Bound and Non-College-Bound**
Non-college-bound students feel especially disconnected, with only 41% finding schoolwork challenging compared to 55% of their college-bound peers.

3. **College vs. Vocational Focus**
While 68% of high schoolers hear a lot about college, only 23% hear the same about vocational alternatives, despite only half planning to attend a four-year college.
