I actually tested it myself before sharing this here. It uses yt-dlp (open-source) as the download engine. The cookie thing is optional — some sites like Instagram need your login cookies to access videos. When you enable it, yt-dlp reads them locally on your machine and sends them straight to the video site, same way your browser does. Nothing goes to any external server.

Most sites like YouTube and TikTok work fine without cookies at all. I’ve been using it for a few days, ran it through network monitoring too — no suspicious outbound traffic. It’s legit.
