Cursor gives away its **Pro plan free for 1 year** to students.

- You need to prove you’re a real student using SheerID
- Requires a university email like `.edu`
- You get all Pro features: GPT-4o, Claude, code help, everything

**BUT…**  
If you live in India or any country not on their VIP list… too bad. You’re blocked.  
Cursor straight-up said, “No free lunch for you.”

This is the no-money, no-risk option. You still get:

- GPT-4o Mini (free, but limited)
- Code completions
- GitHub integration
- Around 500 uses per day (no more unlimited fun)

Great for:

- Quick tasks
- Pretending you’re a hacker with training wheels

- Tricks Cursor into unlocking features

Steps:

- Install plugin
- Wipe your old machine ID
- Restart Cursor and cross your fingers

- Change machine info manually
- Restart Cursor and hope

Works for about 5 minutes until Cursor says, “Nice try.”
