**Summary:**

* * *

1. **Control Panel’s Future**
Microsoft is planning to phase out the Windows Control Panel, a feature that has been around since the 1980s, in favor of the more modern Settings app. The shift has been underway since 2015, but no exact timeline for the removal has been given.

2. **Transition Details**
The move aims to provide a more streamlined and modern user experience. The Settings app will consolidate many of the functions previously available in the Control Panel, such as system time, hardware settings, and network configurations.

3. **User Impact**
Users will need to adapt to the Settings app for managing system preferences. While the Control Panel will be gradually deprecated, the full transition will happen over time.
