**Summary:**

* * *

1. Establishing Lunar Time
NASA is set to create a Coordinated Lunar Time (LTC) to facilitate future lunar missions, coordinating with government stakeholders and international organizations.

2. Based on Atomic Clocks
The lunar time will be determined similarly to Earth’s UTC, using a weighted average of atomic clocks, though factors affecting time measurement at the Moon’s surface are still under analysis.

3. Importance for Space Missions
This initiative aims to support a scalable lunar ecosystem and enhance navigation and coordination for missions beyond the Moon, highlighting the significance of precise timekeeping in space.
