**Summary:**

1. **Profit Ban Proposal**
A new commission may implement a **ban on profits** for water companies in England, aimed at overhauling the current system.

2. **Response to Public Outcry**
This proposal comes in response to growing public anger over water companies prioritizing profits over environmental protection.

3. **Nonprofit Management Model**
The commission is considering selling water companies to firms that would operate as **nonprofits** , ensuring any excess profits are reinvested for public benefit.

4. **Comparison to European Practices**
This nonprofit approach aligns with models used in other European countries, allowing for competitive salaries while redirecting profits back into the company.

5. **Future Implications**
If implemented, this change could significantly alter the landscape of water management in England, focusing on environmental sustainability and public service.
