# Perplexity AI Pro — FREE for 12 Months 🎓 > **Why should you care?** > Because the Pro version costs **$20/month** and we’re about to get it for **$0** using a student trick. No, you don’t need to be a student. Yes, it works. * * * ## Here’s the Deal We’re gonna pretend you go to a Dutch university. Sounds wild, but it takes 5 minutes and you get a full year of Pro features — unlimited searches, better AI models, file uploads, the works. * * * ## What You Need to Change in the PDF Download the Student ID template below and edit **only these 3 things:** | Field | What to Put | | --- | --- | | **Full Name** | Your name (first + last) | | **SN Number** | Change only the **last 3 digits** | | **Birth Year** | **2003 or 2004** (gotta look college-age) | Save it. Done. * * * > **🚀 Step-by-Step (Even Your Grandma Could Do This)** > > 1. Open **Brave browser** in incognito mode (or any private window) > 2. Go to [perplexity.ai](https://www.perplexity.ai/) > 3. Sign up with your **real email** (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo — whatever you actually check) > 4. Check your inbox for a **6-digit code** , enter it > 5. When asked for your plan → pick **Education** > 6. Click **Verify as student** > > **Now fill this out exactly:** > > - **Country:** Netherlands > - **School:** Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (Groningen) > - **First Name:** _Exactly_ as it appears on your edited PDF > - **Last Name:** _Exactly_ as it appears on your edited PDF > - **Date of Birth:** Any day, any month, **2003 or 2004** > - **Email:** Your actual email > > 1. Click **Verify My Student Status** > 2. Click **Sign into my university portal** > 3. SheerID popup appears → click **Proceed** > 4. Groningen login page shows up → **just close that tab** (don’t touch anything) > 5. Go back to the **original tab** → click **Upload Proof** > 6. Click **Add document** → upload your edited Student ID PDF > 7. Wait ~20 seconds > > **Done. Welcome to Pro.** * * * > **💀 Is This Even Legit?** > > You’re not hacking anything. You’re just… creatively qualifying for an educational discount. The university doesn’t lose money. Perplexity gets a user. You get Pro features. Everybody wins except maybe some accountant somewhere. * * * _Shoutout to [Schwartz](https://onehack.st/u/schwartz) for the original method_ 🤝 ## [1.pdf](https://onehack.st/uploads/short-url/znZ1O8zC0L5bgmkciiCn7YyzqPQ.pdf) (69.8 KB) * * * ---
