@none_buns — they are not dodging the copyright check. They are **exempt** from it, and YouTube wrote the switch itself.

**🎯 The allowlist.** A rights holder opens Studio Content Manager, pastes your channel’s 24-character `UC` id, and Content ID stops claiming your videos. Channels only, not single tracks. [Exempt channels from Content ID claims](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6070344)

**🏷 The music libraries call it safelisting.** [Epidemic Sound](https://www.epidemicsound.com/how-it-works/music-licensing/what-is-safelisting/) spells it out: safelisting ties your channel to your account, so content published while subscribed **“remains cleared forever.”** That is the whole thing — a whitelist, not a secret.

**💰 And a claim is not a takedown.** YouTube says a claim can **block, monetize or track** the video, and **“monetize” is the most common policy applied to music claims**. So a claimed music video keeps running ads — with the money routed to the owner. [Learn about copyright claims](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6013276)

**🤝 Want the split for yourself?** [Creator Music](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/12657860) lets you use an eligible track and _split that video’s revenue with the rights holders_ — switched on automatically during the upload checks.

**🏢 Now the part that answers “I keep seeing these channels”.** The big ones are not uploaders. **Lofi Girl is Lofi Records** — a label with its own publishing arm — and **Warner Chappell Music France administers that catalogue**. 14 million subscribers, 30,000–60,000 listening at any given moment. [The deal, in trade press](https://www.digitalmusicnews.com/2024/02/12/wcm-france-admin-publishing-deal-lofi-records/)
