I was working as marketing specialist for a marketing agency for 4 years. To be honest link building if done correctly is best with pr articles on bigger news sites or at least 500.000 visitors/month anything under that for me considered spam link and waste of time and have to be done correctly writing helpful unique content with hours of research. We did it for free just sent out the article for 1000-s of journalists. We was just writing good content and charged our client for 4000 dollar, also start networking with journalists they are always hungry for quality content and if they mention your site as source trust me will be better than 5000 links from small sites. I get these spam emails too from SEO “experts”. Seo is not just about link building. I recommend you to do some side project like a blog based on some theme what you like follow this curse for marketing: [https://www.udemy.com/course/learn-digital-marketing-course/?couponCode=LETSLEARNNOWPP](https://www.udemy.com/course/learn-digital-marketing-course/?couponCode=LETSLEARNNOWPP) than get your cv to some local companies or marketing agencies. You get hired faster than finding clients from scratch and also you will learn more from them. Than after some experience you can start freelancing but I recommend starting it beside a job. ---
