**Summary:**

1. Southwest Airlines has partnered with Archer Aviation to develop an on-demand eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) service in California using Archer’s Midnight aircraft.

2. The service will access 14 California airports, offering trips that normally take 60-90 minutes by car in just 10-20 minutes via air taxi.

3. Archer, backed by United Airlines and Stellantis, plans to launch the service by the end of 2025 after receiving necessary FAA certification.
