How to prepare for soc as a beginner in cyber soc with no expertise starting from scratch please help how to prepare for soc cause i am willing to learn in practical way

1. Learn networking basics — IP, DNS, ports, TCP/UDP.
2. Learn Windows and Linux basics — commands, processes, and logs.
3. Practice hands-on — start with TryHackMe’s Cyber Security 101.
4. Learn SIEM tools — try Splunk or Wazuh to investigate security alerts.
5. Build a small portfolio — document a few investigations and what you learned.

Spend 1–2 hours daily on practice, not just videos. You can work toward a junior SOC analyst role step by step.
