AWS just launched this — 10 days old, real, $500M+ behind it. The headline number oversells what actually arrives on day one, so here’s the honest split.

**What you get immediately, just for verifying:**

- ✅ **12 months AWS Skill Builder Premium** ($449 value) — 900+ courses, hands-on labs, exam prep, game-based learning

**What needs you to stay active (not instant):**

- 🔓 7 badges → $10 AWS credits
- 🔓 14 badges → another $20 AWS credits
- 🔓 21 badges → $100 AWS Foundational exam voucher

Badges come from publishing articles, commenting, and staying active on Builder Center — real total is **$579** , not the $589 floating around, and only $449 of it lands on sign-up.

**Get it:**

1. Go to [AWS Builder Center — Students](https://builder.aws.com/learn/students)
2. Verify enrollment through **SheerID** (a few minutes)
3. Complete your profile — photo + About section
4. Premium unlocks immediately; badges unlock the rest

⚠ **The real gate:** must be 18+ and enrolled at an accredited higher-education institution — SheerID actually checks this, it’s not a checkbox. ([official AWS announcement](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/aws/aws-student-rewards-free-cloud-ai-training))

> **🎓 Not an enrolled student? Two doors, not one**
>
> - If you can source a legit-passing student credential, this forum already has a deep dive on SheerID + .edu verification routes: [The Edu Email Bible](https://onehack.st/t/the-edu-email-bible-100-underground-sources-exposed/316333)
> - If not, AWS has a separate, **no-verification** $100+$100 new-account credit that anyone can claim: [AWS Is Handing Out $100](https://onehack.st/t/aws-is-handing-out-100-but-its-a-trap-kind-of/308388) — smaller, and zero gate.

$579 is the ceiling, not the floor — $449 lands today, the rest is earned.
