# Targeting UK audiences with a SIM + static residential proxy — a few months of testing, and where it landed

today i finished a several month of testing of social media accounts and i wanted to share my experience and ask for your help / advice.

**context :**  
i created 1 account per plateform (IG, TikTok, FB, YTB, pinterest) , and started posting a niche specific content on it . Goal : grow organic followers using reels and posts .  
Problem :\*\*  
i don’t live in UK but i want to target UK audience with my content .

**Solution :**  
once i started searching , several solutions were being discussed on forums , videos , etc.. but i had to block lot of them because they didn’t make sense to me . here are my reasoning :

1- VPNs : big no . reason: the ip is known and plateforms can detect you are using it and it could affect the accounts .  
2- changing settings of the phone / plateforms to UK : no . there s no reason it would work.  
3- using a sim card : it s a strong signal but your connection, ip would still show your real location , so maybe it could work for a few days/ weeks , but i think after sometime you won t be able to get the audience you want to

final solution is combine sim + proxy to show plateforms that your number is in fact uk and your ip is also from UK. thing is there are several proxy types , we need one that looks “normal” like a real phone’s ip . for this there are 2 solutions mobile proxy (highly reliable , more expensive) and residential ip (more affordable , and could be reliable too) . i opted for a static residential ip from UK , the ip won t change so i kept using the same one to give off another trustworhty signal that i m in fact from UK. and for the sim i just bought a giffgaff sim and activated it .

**Setup :**  
now that we have the solution , the setup for me was also as crucial because a wrong one would also leak your real location and i was thinking that one wrong signal would ruin the whole work.

for the setup it s the following : a spare android phone that ll only be used for this → factory reset and set up phone using UK settings → downloaded the superproxy apk and apk builder on my pc → once i turned my phone on i sent those file to the phone through cable → built the superproxy app on my phone → get the proxy details onto the super proxy app → turn on ALWAYS-ON VPN setting on phone [i think that this one is very crucial because it blocks internet access from your phone if the proxy connection got cut , so that we avoid ever sending our real ip to those SM plateforms] → connect to proxy and check ip on browser → open play store get IG ,TIKTOK, FB etc… → setup the SM accounts .

\*\*MY NOTES : everything i noticed during this test.  
1- ig, tiktok ,FB , pinterest all of them looked from UK , from friends requests , to followers , to marketplace to FYP content . which is a good first signal .

for ytb not at all , cuz i guess google is too much into the system they just know i m using a proxy and maybe they shadow banned my account and i got no views on ytb.

2- after warming up the account for a week or so of normal daily usage. i posted my first video .  
and the audience on it was 100 % my target , it was right on the age i wanted to target and also majority from UK . i remembered it got decent views : maybe around 900 views for a first video.

3- at first i thought that was it , i kept posting some image posts and video (not that much videos ) , but things started slowing down fast , views went from 900 to 400 and know to 150 max , on all the posts that i do. this was on tiktok where i was getting at least some hundred views .  
on IG it was worse , first vid was good but then it went downhill, now all image carousel posts are 0 views and videos don t make it to 50 views .

for facebook same story it was giving me the best numbers but it died down too

4- another problem u could face is for uploading the vids , sometimes videos on IG wont get uploaded maybe because of that proxy slowing things down but i used fb meta app to cross post directly to both fb and IG , and sometime it works sometimes it takes lot of time and still doesnt .

it s better to schedule instead of directly upload the videos , since once on their servers the upload won t have any problems .

**Overview on results :**

i tested this method on 2 type of niches so 2 accounts per plateform .

- tiktok was getting more views than insta for both of em
- insta was dead for both of em , all posts were getting little views
- tiktok views died down but when i checked back on my first test i saw a vid went viral and got 5 k so maybe it s just a vid issue not an ip or shadowban issue , but all latest vids didn t exceed 200 views.
- facebook was getting more views consistently but also died down .

**Conclusion :**  
after wasting this much time , i don’t really know if it s a proxy being detected problem or not . or if it s just a video problem and maybe if the videos were better it would get better views . but when looking back i don t think getting 150 views max every time is normal for tiktok , and even worse no views on IG .

i think my setup is the best you could do , i took small details too into consideration by blocking specific useless apps , removing notifications , and stuff like this that can maybe send some signals but yeah this was my honest experience, i spent lot of time to find out the best way to do the proxy setup so here it is for free.

i think the conclusion from this is maybe don t use proxy , you could use a sim because it s not something shady for the plateform and work your way to target the country you want by using tags and upload on the most optimal time for the audience you want , and follow accounts that people in your niche follow to “look like you are from that country”.
