Windows OS
I upgraded to windows 10 when i heard the support for windows 7 was getting cut. First few weeks were fine then i started to notice disk usage going up like crazy while nothing was being installed or deleted, look up some guides tried a few things nothing changed. After a few days i notice this thing called Sys Service Main eating away at my ram and using 80% when nothing is open… I mostly develop websites in VS code and have a Chrome browser open for testing and at one point i was making a Basic React application and guess what i cant even type a single word of code without it being laggy disk usage 100% ram 90% and surprise surprise Sys Service Main tops the chart in Task Manager. After a lot of thought and hesitation i have switched to Ubuntu Linux 19.10 and to my delight its Blazing Fast. But before you think about making a switch like me Please understand i use it For Working** and not for** playing Games and Doing** any Sort of Graphics or Video Editing you will have to consider these before switching to any Linux distro.
the only reason i use windows cause i paid for it, while buying my laptop.
BTW i use arch.
apple for rich
linux for geek
windows for gamers (Gui)
i have a macbook air and i think i tried everything on it, the beauty of the internet is that you will always find free stuff (softwares, games…etc) if you know where to look and how.
macbook air is awesom because it’s not heavy and you can take it with you everywhere. the battery is good too 5 to 6 hours on one charge.
but
if you really want to get the best of your laptop then use a windows because in the end windows is a free open source system and you can get anything done with it plus 96.86% of the world uses windows and only 2.47% uses mac os
basically windows is spyware
create lot log files in back and actually windows is not open source by the way
yeah it’s not fully open source but compared to mac os it is open sourced
macOS and have been using last couple of years.
macOS and have been using last couple of years.
Windows 10 but considering to install zorinOS as dual boot.
Unfortunately I can’t run linux for working purposes as some apps are not supported.
I am using windows XP because I have only 1ghz atom processer and 1GB ram without graphic card. I know that my pc is very old. I want to go to job and upgrade my pc
advance congrats friend
I am using Window 7 Ultimate because i am doing gaming in it , and some programming with V S Code nd also for debugging my programs . Also i used to watch series and movies in it . This is my old laptop but i will buy new one with much higher configuration so that i can run android studio and many more application which dont run on my laptop now. And also i do some editing in PS and thats alll.
I used Windows all my life. Its all purpose and I never thought I will use any other OS. I think Windows 10 is best of all its variations. However, it still has some bugs like 100% disk usage that is really annoying sometimes. I don’t know if it is a compatibility issue
I’m using windows 10 pro , I used windows 7 before that. windows 10 is pretty good as i don’t need to look for drivers.
I use macOS and Debian principally. Sometimes I have to use Windows because some software that I use isn’t available in Mac or Linux.
I mainly use macOS for typesetting in LaTeX, browsing the web, etc… Since I’m a computational chemist, I use Debian for work.
I really like macOS’s UI, everything looks polished. Also i like that macOS uses a UNIX shell, that way I don’t feel as alienated when switching from an OS to another. Also what I like about macOS is the “Apple ecosystem” which some people really dislike but I find it useful.
What I don’t like about macOS is the lack of software. Most mainstream software is available for Windows, macOS and Linux but at times, more specialised software is not that available in this platform.
