🔑 Key threw an error? It’s not dead — Windows spat out a **code** and nobody read it. Every code = a different one-line fix. And when the shared pool finally runs dry, there’s a **free, permanent** route that never needs a key again. It’s all sorted below — pop the box you need. 👇 > **🧩 Read the damn code first — every 0xC004 decoded + the one-line fix** > > Open an **admin** Command Prompt → run `slmgr /dlv` (shows your edition + license state). Now match the code you got: > > 0xC004C020 — that key’s shared activations are used up. Grab the next key, or the other Sub Type. > 0xC004C008 — key can’t be used on **this** machine (already burned here). Next key. > 0xC004C003 — key’s blocked on Microsoft’s side. Dead, move on. > 0xC004E016 / 0xC004F050 — wrong edition. A **Pro** key won’t touch Home / Enterprise / N. Confirm `slmgr /dlv` says _Pro_ first. > > Install any key clean: > > ```auto > slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX > slmgr /ato > > ``` > **🤔 'How do I use the Sub Type?' — you don't, here's what it actually is** > > The Sub Type (`[TH]X19-98805`, `[TH]X19-98801`) isn’t something you type anywhere. It’s just Microsoft’s **batch label** telling you which pool the key pulls from — `98805` = the 7500 pool, `98801` = the 1450 pool. Paste either key normally. If it throws `0xC004C020`, switch to the other one. That’s the whole trick. > **🔍 Check a key BEFORE you burn it — stop wasting good pulls** > > A MAK’s remaining count is public info.
