🎓 Columbia's $99 AI security course, free — no student email needed

:graduation_cap: Columbia’s $99 AI security course, for $0 — anyone can enroll

AI Cybersecurity & Governance is a real course from Columbia Engineering, listed on Columbia+ at $99. For a limited time its course page states it plainly: “use promo code CYBER26 at checkout to enroll in this course for free.”

Anyone can enroll — a personal email is enough. That is Columbia’s own wording, on their FAQ page: “Anyone is welcome to enroll in Columbia+, including those outside of the Columbia University community.” Registering with a UNI is optional.

Four steps

  1. Make a free Columbia+ account — a personal email address, no UNI.
  2. Open AI Cybersecurity & Governance and tap Enroll.
  3. At checkout type CYBER26 — the $99 turns into $0.
  4. Add basic contact details, and the course is yours. Nothing left to pay.

self-paced · 7 modules · 2 hours a week · no prerequisites

What you study: deepfake fraud, prompt injection, model extraction, Shadow AI, and the governance frameworks behind them — ISO 42001, SAIF, AIUC-1. The breach cases are Target, JPMorgan Chase and the OPM. Lessons come from Columbia faculty and industry practitioners.

One code, three courses — Columbia prints Free with code CYBER26 on two more pages:

  1. AI Cybersecurity & Governance — 7 modules, 2 hours a week.
  2. Foundations of Blockchain — 3 modules, 1–2 hours a week.
  3. Decentralized Finance: Markets, Protocols, and Design — trading, lending, stablecoins and governance.

There is no limit on how many you take at once, and the catalogue lists the rest.

The fine print, all of it

  • 1-year access from the day you enroll.
  • The certificate is optional at $20, after you finish the coursework.
  • Self-paced and not instructor-supported — no assigned instructor for questions.
  • The $20 certificate is the only money anywhere in this.
