The first thing I would do is stop thinking about the code and start reviewing the contract.
The company may or may not be allowed to terminate early. That depends on the termination clause, notice requirements, whether termination “without cause” is permitted, payment terms, and the law that governs the agreement. A fixed end date by itself does not automatically guarantee payment for the entire remaining period.
You probably do not need someone else’s finished project. You need a manageable baseline, a clear research question, and one small thing that makes your work different.

The problem is usually not that Chrome profiles fail. It is that they become difficult to manage once you have too many windows, extensions, bookmarks, and logins.
That “CAPTCHA clickfix” is not a normal CAPTCHA. Do not click it, press Win+R, paste anything into PowerShell/Terminal, install an extension, or run a command copied from the page. These fake verification prompts are commonly used to trick people into executing malware.
The blank WordPress page is probably a separate server-side problem, usually a plugin/theme conflict, PHP error, memory issue, or corrupted update.
