YouTube recently added a dubbing feature to videos, allowing users to watch content in different audio languages.
I am looking for a way to download the video with the dubbed audio track to watch it offline and avoid annoying ads.
Is there a browser extension or an online tool that can do this?
thanks

The simple answer:
YouTube’s official app does not let you download videos with dubbed audio. When you download a video for offline viewing, it only saves the original audio language, not the dubbed one.
To get the dubbed audio in a downloaded file, you need to use a third-party tool like:
- yt-dlp (a free command-line program)
- 4K Video Downloader (has an option to choose audio tracks)
- Some browser extensions that let you pick the audio language before downloading
With these tools, you can select the dubbed audio track and save the video with that audio permanently on your device.
You can also try Brave browser — it kills all the ads with ‘no-script’ add-on.
And for downloading, use the official J2D downloader. It’s 100% free and a killer for such things — regularly updated and working like a charm.
Hi,
I use Video Downloader Ultimate. It gives me the option to download YouTube videos with subtitles or audio in Portuguese, which is my native language. That’s why I mentioned it as a helpful tool for my needs.
use this opensource telegram bot https://t.me/tgytdlp_de_bot , you can download almost anything , you can also choose the audio if the video has one or more audio I guess
but you have pay 1 star if you download nsfw , if you dont want to pay , you can host yourself , the code is free and opensource

TWO PATHS FORWARD
┌─────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ PATH A: Official YouTube Premium │
│ PATH B: Third-Party Tools (Own File) │
└─────────────────────────────────────────┘
═══════════════════════════════════════════════
PATH A — Official & Ad-Free
YouTube Premium’s built-in Download button
→ Saves the video with your selected dubbed track
→ Zero ads
→
Catch: encrypted, YouTube-app-only, expires in 29 days (48hrs in some regions) unless refreshed online

PATH B — Standalone Files You Actually Own
4K Video Downloader Plus (Windows/macOS/Linux/Android)
1. Paste video link (Smart Mode)
2. Open "Audio Tracks" section
3. Pick your dubbed language OR "All Tracks"
4. Hit Download — merges automatically
Most beginner-friendly option, purpose-built for this exact task.
yt-dlp + FFmpeg (Command-line, free, all platforms)
# Step 1: List all audio track IDs
yt-dlp -F "URL"
# Step 2: Download chosen video+audio combo
yt-dlp -f [video-ID]+[audio-ID] "URL"
Most flexible — pulls raw streams directly, zero ads baked in.
iFunia YouTube Downloader / JDownloader
Paste URL → format dropdown shows each
dubbed-language variant → select → download
Similar workflow to 4K Video Downloader Plus.

QUICK PICK
| Need | Best Tool |
|---|---|
| Easiest, no coding | 4K Video Downloader Plus |
| Most control, free | yt-dlp + FFmpeg |
| Simple GUI alternative | iFunia / JDownloader |

ONE LEGAL NOTE
This works cleanly for personal offline archiving. Redistributing downloaded dubbed content isn’t covered under YouTube’s terms — sanctioned downloading applies to your own uploads or Premium’s built-in feature. For personal viewing, yt-dlp or 4K Video Downloader Plus remain the most reliable picks.
═══════════════════════════════════════════════
For a truly permanent, ad-free local file with your chosen dub, yt-dlp gives the cleanest result — 4K Video Downloader Plus is the friendlier GUI alternative if you’d rather skip the command line. ![]()

English sits at 140-8 on one video and 140-11 on the next. A tool grabbing “the audio” grabs whatever it landed on. Logged by the devs themselves:

Premium is not a download
Premium "download"

A rented offline player. Never a file you own.
The new AI auto-dubs are a separate system
Creator-uploaded tracks ≠ YouTube’s new auto-dubs. yt-dlp’s maintainer, on the auto ones:
“still new and yt-dlp isn’t handling them properly yet… subject to change”
Every tool downstream inherits that. On auto-dubbed videos → download, listen first, then delete the source.
The tool was never the problem. Every one of them will hand you a language you didn’t ask for.
