How to Change Your Display Name on TikTok

Your TikTok display name is the name that appears at the top of your profile in the app. It can be anything you like, and it doesn’t matter if another user is already using the same one.

Tip: Think of your display name as your name in the address book and your username as your unique phone number.

Here’s how to change your TikTok display name.

  1. Open the TikTok app on your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet and tap Me in the bottom menu.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap your current name next to Name and type your new name in the field.
  4. Tap Save to update your TikTok display name.

How to Change Your Username on TikTok

Important: Usernames for TikTok are all unique because they’re used to identify individual accounts. TikTok usernames are also used to create the unique web URL for your profile that others copy and paste to link to your account and videos.
