I am a college student, and as you know, we need Microsoft Office for everything. I purchased it, but I accidentally rebooted my laptop completely and lost the Microsoft Office product key. If anyone can help me and let me know how to get a free product key, I would appreciate it. In the future, I will return the favor.

First, check the Microsoft account you used to buy Office, because a digital purchase is usually linked to that account and can be reinstalled from your order history without a printed key. Second, search your email for the original purchase receipt, since it often lists the product key or the account it was assigned to. Third, ask your college IT help desk whether your student email qualifies for Microsoft 365 Education, which many schools provide free and covers Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Fourth, while you wait, use the free web versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint or LibreOffice for urgent assignments, so a lost key does not block your coursework. Finally, avoid keys sold cheaply on random sites, because they are often reused, revoked or tied to someone else, and keep your own key in a password manager once you recover it.
