I was wondering if there was any way people are making money using torrents or torrenting ?
I was wondering if so many people who are involved in torrenting make a good sum of money or is it just that they’re doing for the community or for fun?
I searched around the internet but couldn’t find any answers that could satisfy my quest. If anyone here could tell me how these people make money and the whole process, we’d be really glad to know.
Apart from having ad revenue from your own or some third-party website, there is no way to monetize process of torrenting. Most legit websites actually use link short-ners to provide download links of torrent files and thats how they earn money. Along with that they also pay for seed boxes which automatically keep torrents alive even if nobody is downloading. But they cost alot for somebody not looking to invest and also require maintenance costs.
TLDR; No you can monetize the torrenting process. But you can monetize your website where you share the torrents.
PS; Most people pirate as a secondary hobby not looking for return on their investment. They just want to share content with the world.
recently i saw 1xbet something keeping their ads in the torrent. so if you are famous uploader.. they will pay you to keep their website name embedded into the videos or movies.. people will download the torrent of famous uploader and will see their ads..
