Recently my friends mobile was locked and he forgot the password

After getting into its reset menu through dialing power off button and volume up button when I try to reset it
It still demands for password
Is there any way to hard reset it

I know a way which is through EDL mode. Also there are some bypass trick available using Google Voice Assistant on YouTube, you can try. Go to mobile shop, they will flash stock ROM through EDL Point. Your phone will be okay.
