Remember Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama — the India × Japan animated film a whole generation grew up on? It’s officially back: the same film, digitally remastered in 4K, re-released in cinemas on Jan 24, 2025
(IMDb still lists it under 1993 — it’s the same movie with a shiny new look: tt0259534)
And it’s free to download
🔗 The links
Main page (all 7 versions): https://archive.org/details/@ramayana_the_legend_of_prince_rama
The 4K one — best quality (8.4 GB): direct 4K file
How to download (under a minute of effort):
- Open the main page — you’ll see 7 uploads.
- The gold-glowing one in the pic above is the winner: original 1993 Hindi voices + brand-new 4K picture
- Click it → hit the
Download button → grab the biggest file. - Big file = big patience
— or paste the direct link into a free download manager (Free Download Manager / IDM): it downloads in pieces, much faster, and you can pause/resume.
Tiny tricks used (so you don’t have to):
- Every upload’s real video + sound streams were inspected — most “4K” files actually carry the same ordinary stereo sound.
- The 2160p 4K upload is the sharpest of them all, with the original Hindi dub kept intact
- Nostalgic for theatre sound? An older print elsewhere on archive.org carries the big 5.1 surround mix — hunt for “AC3 5.1”.
- Old-film charm warning: it’s hand-drawn 1993 animation, not modern CGI
Grab it, watch it with family, and refresh that childhood memory
