I just created .edu mail from ccsf.edu. I am able to login to my .edu account but not able to send or receive emails.
Maybe ccsf is not working anymore… you should try swcc(South Western College) or Orange Coast College. They are working fine and also provide unlimited gdrive.

Colleges have updated their policies to include that you need to be registered in courses to access, see below:
It can be the same for whatever college you have a .edu email from.
