$1 buys you 14 days of Game Pass. ![]()
Two tiers offer it. Pick Premium. Same $1, same 14 days — but 200+ games instead of 50.
Then turn off auto-renew before you close the tab, or it bills you $14.99 next. ![]()
Which one to click
| Tier | $1 for 14 days? | Then costs | You get |
|---|---|---|---|
| $14.99/mo | 200+ games, console + PC | ||
| $9.99/mo | ~50 games, online multiplayer | ||
| $13.99/mo | PC only | ||
| No | $22.99/mo | no $1 offer — don’t wait for one |
Essential and Premium both dropped to 14 days recently, so they now cost the same for the same time. Premium gives 4× the library. There’s no reason to click Essential.

Recurring billing is ON by default. Microsoft says so in the offer terms.
Turn it off immediately after paying — you keep all 14 days anyway.
account.microsoft.com/services → your Game Pass → Manage → turn off recurring billing
Do it while you’re thinking about it. Not “later.” ![]()
Will it even show up for me?
This is an acquisition offer — aimed at accounts that have never subscribed to Game Pass.
Never had Game Pass → you’ll almost certainly see it
Lapsed years ago → sometimes works, varies by region
Currently subscribed → no
The only truth is the checkout screen. Sign in, then look at the price. If it says $1, you’re in. If it says $22.99, you aren’t — no amount of clicking changes it.
Not available in Russia. Japan requires 18+.
🧠 The part regulars know that the deal pages don't tell you
Forgot to cancel and got billed? You’re not automatically stuck.
Microsoft’s terms allow a one-time refund of the most recent recurring charge if you cancel within 30 days of that payment.
It’s discretionary, not a right — so it’s a rescue, never a plan. But most people who get charged never even ask. ![]()
Why $1 buys less than it used to: this offer was a full month not long ago. It’s 14 days now. If you’re waiting for the old deal to come back, that’s the direction it’s moving.
Price context — Xbox cut prices in April 2026: Ultimate went $29.99 → $22.99, PC Game Pass $16.49 → $13.99. The trade: new Call of Duty games no longer arrive day one — they land about a year later. Existing CoD titles stay.
So what’s actually worth the 14 days? Premium gets Xbox-published games within a year of launch, plus the back catalogue — Diablo IV, Hogwarts Legacy, Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, GTA V. Ultimate is what holds day-one releases, and Ultimate has no $1 door.
Plan the fortnight: 14 days is enough to finish 1–2 campaigns. Decide what you’re playing before you pay, then download on day one — the clock starts at checkout, not at install.
TL;DR
Sign in → Premium → $1 → kill recurring billing right away → play for 14 days → walk. ![]()
