Need a better way to organize assignments, research, applications, or a project with lots of moving parts? Airtable combines spreadsheets, databases, forms, and simple apps in one workspace.
Students have two routes to free Team-level access. The difference between them matters.

The student plan needs approval. The 120-day trial starts before that approval; don’t assume Airtable will add both periods together.
How to get the student plan
- Create an Airtable account using the same email address you’ll put on your application.
- Create a workspace. If your account has a
.eduemail, check whether Airtable has applied the 120-day Team trial. - Submit the official Student Plan application.
- Watch for Airtable’s decision, then check Workspace settings → Workspace plan to confirm what your workspace actually received.
Outside the US? Airtable says international students can apply.
No .edu address? You can still submit a student application. Airtable says it may ask for additional information to verify eligibility. A non-.edu address does not automatically trigger the 120-day trial.
What you can build with it
Use one workspace to track scholarship deadlines, coursework, job applications, research notes, or a team project. Forms can collect entries into your base, while different views help you see the same information as a calendar or task list.
The approved Student plan has limits: up to 50,000 records and 20 GB of attachments per base, and some Team features are unavailable. It is useful access, but it is not an unrestricted paid Team subscription.
The billing catch
Don’t add a payment method just to claim the trial. Airtable says adding one during a Team trial upgrades the workspace to a paid Team plan and starts billing.
Also check permissions before inviting collaborators: adding people to a Team workspace can create billable seats. Keep an eye on your workspace’s plan and billing page, especially when the trial or student period is nearing its end.

Best move: Create the account first, apply for the Student plan, and confirm the approved plan in your workspace. A .edu trial alone is not a 24-month approval.
