Hi everyone! I’m a content creator based in India, but most of my content is multilingual, with a lot of English as well.
I already have a TikTok account where I’ve been consistently uploading content and I’m getting a pretty good response. The problem is that this particular account doesn’t seem to have access to Creator Rewards/monetization. I honestly don’t remember which country/region I selected when I originally created the account, but currently I only see access to LIVE Gifts.
I’d really like to start earning from the content I’m already creating. I’m considering whether I should create a new account properly from the beginning, but I’m unsure whether that would actually make me eligible or whether there are regional/account requirements that I need to meet.
I also understand that TikTok’s monetization programs are not available in every country, and I don’t want to do anything that could violate TikTok’s rules, trigger a security review, get the account demonetized, or result in a ban.
So I’d really appreciate advice from creators who understand TikTok’s current monetization rules:
Is there any legitimate way for an India-based creator to become eligible for Creator Rewards?
Is it possible to monetize my existing account, depending on its current region/account status?
If I create a new account, what should I know beforehand to make sure I’m setting it up correctly?
Are there legitimate alternatives for earning from TikTok if Creator Rewards isn’t available in India?
Has anyone in a similar situation successfully gotten monetization/access restored?
I’m looking for the safest and legitimate route rather than trying to bypass TikTok’s regional restrictions.
Any advice or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
Creator Rewards is tied to where you live, not to the account — TikTok’s own Creator Rewards terms ask for residence in an eligible country and list VPN use as a disqualifier. A new account made from India lands in the same place. What changes the answer is you living in an eligible country, or the doors that pay from every region — and you already stand in one of them.
🔍 Read your own account in 2 minutes — the region on file, the gate that fails
• Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data → open the file: the Account Region line is TikTok’s record, the one every program reads.
• Profile → Menu → TikTok Studio → Creator Rewards Program: the status screen names the failing requirement (region · 18+ · 10k followers · 100k views in 30 days · original videos over 1 minute · personal account in good standing). Full list: Creator Academy · official FAQ.
• Studio → Analytics → Overview and Followers: the same 30-day views and follower count the gate reads.
• Studio → More tools → Account check: any standing issue that blocks every program.
🆕 Existing account or a new one — the same door
• Region follows where you sign up and live; a second account from India reads India. More than one account is allowed (the rule), as long as the new one isn’t there to dodge a restriction on the old one and has its own email or phone (check yours).
• The day you live in an eligible country (study, work, move), the existing account applies from Studio → Creator Rewards Program. No new account, nothing to migrate.
• Moving content anyway: export first, re-upload only your own originals — reposts and duplicates are not counted as original.
💸 What pays from any region today — inside TikTok
• LIVE Gifts → Diamonds → cash — you have it. Profile → Menu → Balance → LIVE rewards (Diamonds) · cash-out rules on the withdrawal page. Agencies: Settings → Creator tools → LIVE Center → invite code, joins a Creator Network that pays under its own contract.

• Paid “region unlock” services asking for your login — account theft with a price tag.
• Phone farms and “warmed” accounts on local SIMs — a fabricated identity, the ban you’re trying to avoid.
The account is fine. The address is the gate. Until the address changes, LIVE, SoundOn, effects and direct deals are the doors — open everywhere.
