How Can I remove a bad news article about someone from Google search results page(Mainly First Page)?

Could you help me or guide me to remove a bad news article about one of my friends from Google SERP mainly from the first page. We tried to contact the news publication they are asking for a hefty amount which is not at all possible from a financial standpoint. Any help in the right direction will be appreciated.

Bro, two things can be done mainly contact the site.. but here I can see the site is not in your support. So the second and last thing left is to contact cybercrime and tell them briefly about your issue. I am fully sure that they will help you. Take the help of some more friends and tell them also to report the cybercrime. There is an exception also if there are more than 5 articles, that means your friend has done something bad. Still, 5 is more than enough to prove that your friend might be wrong. But for the solution part contact cybercrime until and unless they reply to you and yes if your friend is not guilt they will be helping you to remove the article as it may be violating oneโ€™s life by as it is a crime to post about other people on the internet in a way that will cause them harm. One more factor should be considered i.e. the article that posted on the internet is posted by a recognized organization or by any other local organization. Try the cybercrime part with more ease, may it help. One more thing you also have the proof now that your friend is may not guilty as if the article was kind of true they would not remove it. This proof in which they are asking money. You can simply keep this for later as a backup to show it cybercrime.

If you are from EU region, use the GDPR to request to delete info from that site. They will have to remove your information according to GDPR, if they are not willing, file a case against them. Thatโ€™s the only way.

If you are from region other then Europe, then you should go to local authorities or something in this issue.
