- Contact live chat and say you received an empty box.
- Go on from there and you should get a refund.

Empty boxes are becoming rare now that they have machines with advanced AI to weigh and scan each box upon shipping. The USPS, UPS and FEDEX also implement a scanning technology (it’s a small white sticker with a coil embedded inside of the box) upon loading of the box and scanned when the boxes are dropped off.
For example, Amazon have special floors that act as a scale and scanner. All items are accounted for even while in transit.
If for example an Amazon Deliverer who accidentally drops off the wrong box will get an alert on their device, with a heat map of the location of the actual package in the truck. They are required to fix the error before returning to HQ, or possibly get fired. It’s becoming a reality.
So, people who report empty boxes may still get a refund for the first round, however, you may find it more difficult to get certain items and slowly your account gets shadow banned, or the app fails to connect to a network. Customer service may not respond back to you as a consequence, and ultimately you as a consumer cannot order from Apple anymore.
All Apple products may have trouble connecting to your iCloud account, or the latest updates will mysteriously fail upon installation.
all that being said, refurbished (and/or open-box) items have a better chance for this method, but be prepared for this method to fail and be prepared to have all devices attached to your account shadow banned and tracked.
