Here is the step‑by‑step process I followed to get my GitHub Student Developer Pack:

  • I did not create a new GitHub account; I used one that I had created a few months earlier.

  • I made sure the name on my GitHub profile matched exactly the name I had given to the college, then added billing information and set up 2FA.

  • In the billing information section, I provided USA details.

  • I used a VPN with a Phoenix, Arizona location.

  • For verification ID, I created a dummy ID using Google Gemini. I uploaded the ID from my laptop, and for the camera check I displayed the ID on my iPad and showed that to the camera (making sure the ID was clear, the background was black, and the iPad itself was not visible in the frame).

  • Overall, I tried everything to make the application look genuine.

I was on desktop so it asked me to either submit using camera capture or file upload. other steps were same for me too.

Here is the reason I was reluctant to share my exact process, sometimes the application gets revoked even after getting approved if they find something unusual, I hope mine doesn’t get revoked.
