So, I came across this website https://cheapkeys.in/ and they are selling software keys at a very good price. Wanted to know whether it’s fake or not
Actually not only
https://cheapkeys.in this website, you may also find many software keys on popular marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, etc..
Here we need to understand two important points.
why these keys are so cheap and how the seller can sell expensive product keys at a very cheap price?
Ok, first thing first.
why those keys are so cheap?
Actually - there is more than one reason for that.
Mostly, these keys are coming from countries where such keys are so cheap. These types of “gray market” keys are may be valid - but those are not made for your country and they were sold at a cheaper price in other countries. But Not limited to only for this reason.
There is a couple of other reasons why such keys are so cheap.
maybe the keys are purchased through any illegal method like - used a stolen credit card.
or those keys are provided by the establishment for the students for their educational purposes.
Ok next, the second thing.
How the seller can sell those keys at a very cheap price?
I know the answer might predictable.
Those sellers nothing have to lose. But they have a chance to earn some bucks.
Ok Let me clarify a bit more,
imagine - you found the windows 10 product key from a website where selling the product keys at a very cheap price. Actually Here the seller used a stolen credit card for purchasing a bunch of product keys from Microsoft and the seller uploaded those keys on a particular website and you purchased a key from there. But when the credit card reported as stolen - then there is a chance to a chargeback for such stolen credit card purchases. if the chargeback occurs - then Microsoft will deactivate complete keys that are purchased with that reported stolen credit card.
After that - of course, you will be a victim of a scam. Because you won’t find that seller or the website again on the internet.
So, stay away from such scams. ![]()
About microsoft (windows/office) keys, there are almost 2 possibilities that i know :
- Stolen keys from cracked accounts coming from a legit website seller
- MSDN/Student generated keys
1 key can be used many times until it is definitly blacklisted by microsoft. You can use a key to install your software without any problem for 2 or 3 times, and then it says that this key was used too many times so you have to activate by phone. at this step you can still use the key for maybe 50 or 100 times until it is blacklisted.
So let’s say you buy a legit key for $150, you can sell it 100x for $5…and ask your customers to activate by phone.
