Get ChatGPT Teacher (K-12) Edition for Free
OpenAI launched a free tier for US teachers. Verification uses SheerID. The theory: Chinese edu-style domains might slip through their international school verification gap. Whether this actually works? Read on.
One-Line Flow: Grab a Chinese edu-style temp email → verify at ChatGPT → maybe get $240/year of premium features for free until 2027 (if SheerID doesn’t catch you).
The Method
-
Go to em.bjedu.tech
-
Click Create a new email address
-
Select erzi.me from the dropdown
-
Register at chatgpt.com using that email
-
Enter the OTP code sent to your temp inbox
-
If it works, you now have GPT-5.2 access
What You’re Actually Getting (~$240/yr value)
- Unlimited GPT-5.2 — no message caps like peasant free tier
- Deep Research mode — the one that actually reads stuff
- Advanced Voice Mode — talk to your AI overlord
- DALL-E image generation — make cursed images legally
- Memory — it remembers your trauma across sessions
- Google Drive + Microsoft 365 + Canva connectors
- Privacy upgrade — your data isn’t used for training
Free until June 2027.
Backup Domains
The dropdown at em.bjedu.tech has multiple options:
bjedu.tech36d.de5.nethxedu.techtgnb.tech
If one gets burned, try another.

🧠 How SheerID Actually Verifies (The Real Mechanics)
SheerID uses a waterfall approach — it tries methods in order until one works:
- Authoritative databases — 200K+ global sources (registrars, government records)
- SSO authentication — institution single sign-on
- Email Loop + Domain Validation — checks if domain looks edu-ish, sends verification link
- Document upload — manual review (last resort)
The gap we’re exploiting:
SheerID’s own docs state email loop is “only enabled by default for certain program types where strong authoritative and SSO sources are less available, such as verification of affiliation with international secondary schools.”
Translation: international schools get weaker verification. Just domain pattern-matching + click a link.
The theory: Chinese edu-style domains (erzi.me, bjedu.tech) might pass the pattern check as “educational enough” without triggering document upload.
Once verified, you stay verified — even if patched later, existing accounts keep access per OpenAI’s terms.
⚠️ Honesty Hour: What's Confirmed vs. Theoretical
Confirmed:
- SheerID uses weaker verification for international schools
- Email Loop only checks: domain looks edu-like + you can receive mail + you click the link
- ChatGPT for Teachers is officially US K-12 only
- SheerID has “AI-enhanced fraud detection”
NOT Confirmed:
- Whether erzi.me/bjedu.tech are in SheerID’s database
- Whether OpenAI geo-restricts at the SheerID config level
- Whether these domains trigger document upload requests
- Any independent user reports verifying this works
Possible failure points:
- Fraud detection flags unusual patterns
- Document upload required (method fails)
- Geo-restriction blocks non-US IPs
- Domain already burned
Bottom line: Theoretically plausible. Zero independent confirmation. Try it, report back.

Reality Check
- This exploits a theoretical verification gap. Could fail. Could get patched.
- December 2025 — no confirmed success reports yet.
- Not illegal, just… creative interpretation of “educator.”
- If you try it, drop results in comments so we know what’s real.
