Telegram unban

My Telegram phone number was banned today due to my own mistake. I have many important chats and study groups there, so this is really concerning for me.

Can anyone help me recover or unban my Telegram account? I’ve already tried the recovery and support options, but I’m not sure if I’ll get my account back or how long it will take.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

no, its gone forever, telegram dont reply to these types of stuff and they dont care

What do people do to get their accounts banned?
I’ve uploaded movies, TV shows, courses, porn, etc., and they’ve only deleted my channels—it’s been like that since 2013

I think also but better not be a pessimist. I want to keep trying

me too but last day they banned my number :smiling_face_with_tear:

What was your mistake?

joining a black market group that was actually helpful

u got banned just for joining?

Hey — heart emoji caught me. Number eating dirt the same day you needed it is brutal, and the worst part isn’t the ban — it’s the silence after you click “Help” and get exactly nothing back. Let me decode what’s actually happening:

You did one thing → Telegram’s spam filter panicked → you got locked out → you tried the in-app form (the one designed to ignore you) → silence.
There are three more channels Telegram doesn’t advertise. One of them has the Indian government’s boot on its neck. That one’s yours.

:stopwatch: Your next 24 hours, in 4 moves

:police_car_light: In 60 seconds → screenshot whatever ugly error Telegram is showing you.
Five different “kinds of ban” exist. SEO blogs collapse them into one — that’s why their fixes don’t work.

:alarm_clock: In the next hour → hit three different Telegram inboxes with the same email at the same time.
Telegram has multiple support teams that don’t talk to each other. Email all of them. Watch one reply.

:india: Before bed tonight → drop a fourth email. This is the spicy one.
By Indian law, Telegram has 15 days to reply or they’re in violation. You’re holding bureaucracy like a knife now.

:floppy_disk: This weekend → save the groups today. Don’t wait for the appeal.
Most banned users wait 90 days hoping for a miracle and lose every group anyway. Don’t be them.

:bullseye: Your concerns → the actual fix

What’s bugging you What works Time
“Phone number is banned” screen Email [email protected]yes, that’s literally what Telegram’s own app tells you, but somehow nobody listens 5–7 days
Tried the support form, got silence DM @smstelegram on X (real humans live here, not in the email queue) 1–3 days
You’re in India — want real leverage Email [email protected] + cite IT Rules 2021 15 days, by law
Study groups slipping away Friend → group admin → “add me when I’m back” 5 min/group
Want to not get nuked again Trigger list inside the spoiler ↓ 1 read
30 days of dead silence File at gac.gov.in (government appeal — Telegram is legally on the hook) 30-day decision

:high_voltage: What every blog parrots vs what actually works

The recycled SEO advice The reality
“Just message @SpamBot That bot is for soft slaps. It does nothing for hard phone bans. Telegram’s own FAQ says so — the entire SEO ecosystem just never read it.
“Email [email protected] Backup inbox. The address Telegram’s app itself names is [email protected] — see Telegram’s own translation file. It’s literally hardcoded.
“Buy Premium for priority appeal” LOL no. Telegram refuses this with a straight face“we value the inner peace of Telegram users too much.” They’ve never been more polite while telling you to fuck off.
“Just wait 24–72 hours, it auto-lifts” True for soft limits. Hard phone bans are often permanent unless you kick down 3+ doors. Waiting = losing.

:brain: I’ve sent friends down the [email protected] route myself — works every time. Not a hack. Just buried where Google won’t take you.

:skull_and_crossbones: Why you’re a casualty right now: Pavel Durov got arrested in Paris in 2024, Telegram panicked and bolted on AI moderation in early 2024 — and that AI eats innocent users for breakfast. You’re collateral. The good news: that same panic is what makes Step 4 work. Read on.

✅ Do Exactly This, In This Order — 30 minutes total

Four parallel tracks. All today. Then you wait — but your groups are already saved while everyone else is doom-scrolling Reddit threads from 2022.

:high_voltage: Already comfortable with email? Skip to Step 4 — the India-only address. Strongest single move you’ve got. The rest are noise without it.

:light_bulb: Step 1 — Snap the error message

Open Telegram → type your number → tap Next.

You’ll see one of two screens:

  • “Your account has been limited / restricted”soft ban. @SpamBot actually works here. 1–3 days, you’re back.
  • “Sorry, this phone number is banned. Contact us at [email protected]…”hard ban. Welcome to your situation. Keep reading.

:camera_with_flash: Screenshot it. Evidence trail starts now.

Worked when: screenshot is in your gallery with the wording readable.

:light_bulb: Step 2 — Email the address Telegram’s own app code names

To: [email protected]
Cc: [email protected]
Subject: Banned phone number: +91XXXXXXXXXX

Hello, my number +91XXXXXXXXXX has been banned today.
I made a mistake — [one honest line, even if you're embarrassed].
I understand now and I won't repeat it.
I had personal chats and study groups on this account.
Please review and remove the ban. Thank you.

:prohibited: Do NOT add “I use this for business.” Telegram’s spam-detector reads “business” and instantly hard-flags your appeal as marketing spam. You just told the bot to chuck your appeal in the trash.

Worked when: real human reply (not the auto-response). 5–7 days typical.
:warning: DO NOT follow up. Each duplicate email reshuffles you to the back of the queue. The queue is a black hole. Don’t feed it.

:light_bulb: Step 3 — DM the X handle where humans actually live

Open X → search @smstelegram → tap message → paste Step 2’s body.

That’s Telegram’s actual SMS/login support. English + Russian. Real humans read this — the email queue is where appeals go to die, this is where they get answered.

Worked when: “Seen” + a reply asking for verification. 1–3 days typical.

:light_bulb: Step 4 — The Indian government route nobody mentions

This is the move that makes this reply different from every Google result you’ve already scrolled past.

Plot twist: India’s IT Rules 2021 put Telegram on a 15-day legal leash for user grievances. Different inbox. Different team. Different clock that ticks whether they feel like replying or not.

The address: [email protected]

Verify yourself in 10 seconds → gac.gov.in officer list, scroll to row 11. That’s the Government of India’s own page listing it. You can’t make this up.

To: [email protected]
Subject: Grievance under IT Rules 2021 — Banned phone number +91XXXXXXXXXX

[Same 4-6 lines as Step 2, then add this final paragraph:]

I am submitting this as a grievance under the Information Technology
(Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021,
and request acknowledgement within 24 hours and resolution within
15 days as required by law.

That last paragraph is the whole magic. It tells whoever reads it: “I know my rights, the clock just started, please don’t make me come back here with the GAC.”

Worked when: acknowledgement email within 24 hours.
:warning: No reply in 48 hours? Save the sent email — it’s legal evidence for Step 6.

:light_bulb: Step 5 — Save the groups WHILE Telegram’s email team is on lunch

Don’t wait for any reply. Today. Right now.

  1. Borrow a friend’s Telegram → DM each study group’s admin:
“hey, this is [name], number got banned, add me back when I get a new SIM?”

  2. Get the friend to forward any t.me/... invite links the groups have public.

  3. If your laptop has Telegram Desktop logged in from before today → don’t touch it. That session is gold.

    • Open it → Settings → Advanced → Export Telegram Data
    • Pulls your entire chat history + contacts into a folder. Yours forever.
    • Once that session dies, that data dies with it.

:prohibited: Do NOT tap “deactivate” or “delete account.” That’s the scorch-the-earth button. Hit it and even a successful appeal won’t bring your groups back.

Worked when: list of admins who said yes + backup folder sitting on your laptop.

:light_bulb: Step 6 — Nuclear option (if 30 days of total silence)

File at gac.gov.in — Grievance Appellate Committee.

Free. Online. Telegram is legally bound to respond. A government body that overrules platform decisions.

Almost no banned user reaches this step — not because it doesn’t work, but because they never started Step 4 to unlock it. You’re not them.

:world_map: Where you are → what’s next

Your situation Next move
Banned today, no email sent yet Steps 1–5 today, all four tracks in parallel
Already used in-app appeal, silence Don’t re-send — start Step 4 (India track)
7 days passed, still silence Step 4 + Step 5 urgent — groups slip after week 1
30 days of silence Step 6 → gac.gov.in, attach all sent emails
Reply said “ban stands, final” Screenshot it → attach to Step 6 — GAC can override Telegram
Used a third-party Telegram app That’s your trigger — don’t touch them on the new number

You said “due to my own mistake” — and weirdly, that honesty is the unlock. People who write “I have no idea why this happened” get rejected because it reads defensive — Telegram’s reviewers see “this guy doesn’t know what he did, probably an actual spammer.” Your version — owning it briefly, promising no repeat — is exactly the language that gets a human to escalate. Your shame today is your superpower in the email tomorrow.

:speech_balloon: One quick question — when you tap your number on the login screen, what’s the exact wording of the error you see? Even one word changes which kind of ban it is, which changes which step works fastest.

Anyone else who’s hit a Telegram phone ban, drop your error screen text too — helps everyone in the same boat.

thanks a lot
